Sehat Sahi, Laabh Kayi is a 27-month community radio-led health initiative by SMART, supported by the Gates Foundation, covering 24 districts in Uttar Pradesh and 7 in Bihar. The campaign promotes health-seeking behavior and awareness around diseases like TB, Kala Azar, and Filaria, encouraging testing, treatment adherence, and stigma reduction.
Through on-air and on-ground engagement, Sehat Sahi Laabh Kai drives conversations on preventive care, immunization, nutrition, maternal and child health, family planning, and adolescent well-being. It aims to improve access to government health schemes, reduce out-of-pocket expenses, and build informed, proactive communities for long-term health outcomes.
The project also elevates community radio as an integral part of the primary healthcare ecosystem—positioning it not merely as a media tool, but as a vital health infrastructure. Community radio uniquely mobilizes trust, deep access, and local knowledge, bridging gaps that conventional systems often cannot reach.
